Yale Case Study
The Portuguese Guarantee Scheme
October 2020
Case study on a Portuguese program aimed at promoting the liquidity of solvent credit institutions as part of the European policy response to the global financial crisis. Written during my time as a Research Associate at the Yale School of Management and later published in the Journal of Financial Crises, a publication of the Yale Program on Financial Stability. I also conducted extensive research on other financial crisis interventions, including the Federal Reserve’s Term Securities Lending Facility (TSLF).
